On Display in the Wollongong Mall!

This massive photo collage is found in the middle of the Crown Street mall in Wollongong city. It's a good example of how stock images can be used to brighten a space. This photograph was taken during the eat street markets on a Thursday night. Other examples like this can be found at IGA supermarket at Thirroul, Foodworks supermarket at Kiama as well as various spots throughout the Crown street mall.

Canvas Installation!

This is a 60x40 inch canvas of Chasm Falls in Tasmania that I recently delivered to the Australian Capital of Canberra. It is going up in the front reception area of CC Therapy which is located at Hawker. I thought it was a great pick for the colour of the interior, it looks great!

New Snow Photos...

I recently spent the weekend in the beautiful Central West region of New South Wales chasing snow photos, which is my favourite weather condition to shoot. I visited Orange, Mount Canobolas, Mount Lambie, Meadow Flat, Bathurst, Oberon, Mount Victoria, Blackheath, Medlow Bath and Katoomba and saw snow at all locations except for Bathurst. It was a great weekend with some amazingly low temperatures, blizzards and widespread snow.

I also very lucky to capture the Scottish Highland cattle in the snow, which you can see on the photo to the right. To see the latest photos from the entral West region click on the photo of the Highland cow to visit the gallery.

More and More Photos...

I do have a lot of images available to purchase on my website and many online have a similar landscape style but I do have tens of thousands of photos that aren't listed on my website but are still available to purchase, I rarely add photos of flowers, animals, people, buildings, interiors etc to my website but I do have many photographs from all of these categories and more, all you have to is email me: brad@chilby.com.au and ask as they can be purchased as prints, frames, canvas etc or stock images.

Also worth noting is that for every landscape photograph from each location I have many hundreds more, if you can't find the exact shot you want or are searching for a shot from a particular location I may well have it. It's worth asking.

Very Inventive!

Thanks Martin for sending in this photograph. Martin is a customer from the South Coast of NSW who has a lovely bed and breakfast at Akolele near Bermagui and he purchased these 12 black and white images of the South Coast as 5x7.5 inch prints, matted and framed in a black frame.

He had this very inventive idea to cover the television with the 12 images on doors that close and hide the television when it is not in use.

My website has a number of standard 3:2 proportion sizes available to order a print, framed print or canvas in, but we can also do custom sizes; such as the photo you can see to the right which is a 60x40 Inch canvas. This canvas is about to head to its new home at an office in Canberra. I can print 2:1 proportion, 3:1 proportion or basically any size you desire, plus I can print very big so if you want something larger then the 30x45 Inch option that is on our website just let me know and this can easily be arranged.

Red Skies and Wild Weather!
We have had some wild weather over the past few weeks of May with teaming rain, storms, king tides and huge crashing surf along with some nice sunsets to brighten the evening sky. I have taken some new photos in the Sutherland Shire area of Sydney just over the mountain and up the road from Wollongong. Wollongong amongst almost all regional areas have been hit particularly hard by Coronavirus with a massive reduction to visitor numbers and with trade dwindling for many due to closures and restricted ways of doing business. It's great to see the work places like Destination Wollongong are doing to let people know that Wollongong is back open for business.

All New Central Coast and Newcastle Gallery!
I am happy to announce that I have another new gallery on my website, which is the Central Coast and Newcastle gallery. I recently completed a trip to the Central Coast adding many more images to my collection and also visiting many spots I haven't been to before. I had forgotten just how spectacular the Central Coast is with so many amazing destinations and I can't wait to head back. New Sutherland Shire Gallery!
Over the past couple of months I have been working hard to update my Sutherland Shire landscapes gallery with a collection of new and fresh images. I have spent quite a bit of time photographing places like Bonnet Bay, Woronora, Como and Loftus in particular to boost the collection with some new work. The Sutherland Shire is the closest region to Wollongong in the North and is part of the greater Sydney area and previously an area that I hadn't photographed all that much.

I am very excited to annouce the new installation of wall art in the Wollongong Mall which is part of Wollongong Central and it contains 14 local Wollongong images by Chilby Photography. This project was organised with Wollongong Central and is designed to bring some colour and uplifting images to the heart of Wollongong in a rather bleak time due to the Coronavirus pandemic.If you are in town please swing by and check it out, it's near the western end of mall and next to Alexander's Bakery, Surf Dive n Ski with H&M on the eastern side of the installation.

Covid 19 - Corona Virus Information
Due to the new Australian Government restrictions relating to the spread of Covid 19 - Corona Virus, I have made some changes to Chilby Photography. In brief: Landscape Photograph Products, Stock Images and Gift Vouchers are still available to purchase online as normal. However the delivery time may be longer than usual. I have extended the expiry date on all gift vouchers by 24 months. Photography Lessons and Tours will sadly temporarily seize until further notice as will Aerial Photography, Event Photography and Wedding Photography. Commercial and Location shoots are available for one person only per shoot.

Henson's Bus Service Corrimal 1929 to 1959
Henson's Bus Service was a bus company that operated out of Corrimal between 1929 and 1959. This business was proudly that of my Great Grandparents. Henson's Buses was later sold to Hills Bus Company which later became John J Hill and which is now Premier Illawarra.

I found this great little article by Mick Roberts on Looking Back with Mick Roberts which is an excellent source of local history and photographs.

Photography Lessons are back in full swing!
After two years without rain the waterfalls had run dry, the creeks had stopped flowing, and the rolling green hills had turned brown, making it very difficult to hold photography lessons. Thankfully the heavens have finally opened and the Illawarra is glowing green once again, as a result my photography lessons are all back open for business and if you click on the photo to the right you can make a booking.

20x30 Inch Prints, Framed and Matted...
These two lovely 20x30 Inch prints were framed and posted off this week to customers in North Sydney and the Central West of New South Wales.

The photo on the left is the standard black frame and the one to the right is a distressed mocca frame.

When you see for example 20x30 Inch framed and matted photograph on my website; that means the print size is 20x30 inch with the matboard and frame on top.

474 Aerial Photographs of the Illawarra!
I have just updated my Illawarra Aerial Photography gallery. All up there is 474 photographs covering the vast majority of suburbs and landmarks across the Illawarra region with some photos from the Southern Highlands and Goulburn.
